Here are the top stories in East Hampton today:

  1. Hampton events: April 8–14. If you are into live shows, don't miss Alfredo Merat at Wölffer Estate, The Como Brothers at Cowfish, The Montauk Project at The Stephen Talkhouse, or Fireside Sessions with Nancy Atlas at Bay Street Theater just to name of few. There is more, view upcoming events. (Dan's Papers)
  2. Ever wonder if you are flossing your teeth correctly, or how to give yourself a breast exam? This and more will be answered at the free Community Health Fair on Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Scoville Hall at the Amagansett Presbyterian Church, 350 Main St, Amagansett, hosted by The Stony Brook School of Health Professions Center for Community Engagement.(East End Beacon)
  3. The highly contagious norovirus, a stomach bug, is spreading throughout New York and other states. The norovirus is an aggressive food-borne illness that can easily spread to people through contaminated food and water. So far, the illness has been traced to eating raw oysters from British Columbia and distributed in at least 13 states. To prevent the spread, people are encouraged to wash their hands the right way, for at least 20 seconds under hot, soapy water, taking care to scrub under nails and between your fingers. Also, clean up food preparation surfaces with diluted bleach. (Smithtown Patch)
  4. Good news! Stop & Shop announced that it will carry the two FDA authorized COVID-19 anti-viral medications, Paxlovid and Molnupiravir, at all of its New York pharmacies. The best news is that the medication is free with a valid prescription from a health care provider. But the store asks that the infected individual stay home and send a trusted friend of family member to pick up the prescription. Need the COVID-19 Booster #2? That too can be obtained at NY Stop & Shop pharmacies! (News 12 Long Island)
