- East Hampton is looking to deal with its sewage by proposing a seven-acre land swap to Suffolk County. The town would "trade woodlands it owns for county-owned parklands west of a landfill in Montauk, where a wastewater treatment system could be installed," wrote 27east. Its a creative real estate solution, that would need a ton of approvals including those from county and state legislative officials. Sewage is a major issue in the Hamptons; at least some are thinking creatively to resolve the issue. (The Real Deal)
- A scholarship was created to honor Kevin Somers’ life; Somers was a well-known golf caddie in the community who died after a February altercation in East Hampton. The site was created to continue Somers' legacy of sporting excellence for local student-athletes. If you are interested in donating, go to The Kevin Somers Scholarship Fund. The site was created by his wife Alicia Osborne. (East Hampton Patch)
