East Hampton School Budget Sails Through
Voters turned out to support their school district in East Hampton Tuesday.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — East Hampton voters headed to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots in the 2025 to 2026 school budget and school board candidate vote — and passed the budget by a wide margin of 271 to 42.
The district's proposed $88,140,847, budget reflects a 6.34 percent spending increase and a 5.34 percent tax levy, within the tax cap limit.
Residents also weighed in on a proposition to approve a new elementary school playground and science research lab, voting to approve the measure, 280 to 33. Also, they approved the establishment of a new repair reserve fund, 271 to 36 — and the establishment of a new $10 million capital reserve fund, 278 to 39.

Three BOE candidates, incumbents James Foster and Sandra Vorpahl, and Belinda Bellas, ran unopposed. Vorpahl received 290 votes, Foster, 278, and Bellas, 246.
