East Hampton Town Announces 2 New Legal Team Additions
""I'm honored to take on this role and look forward to serving the Town of East Hampton." — Trevor Darrell.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — East Hampton Town officials recently announced new additions to the legal team: Trevor M. Darrell, Esq., has been appointed as the new town prosecutor, on a part-time basis — and Brittany L. Toledano, Esq. has also been appointed as deputy town attorney, both effective on Monday.
As town prosecutor, Darrell will represent East Hampton before the East Hampton Town Justice Court and the Bureau of Administrative Adjudication in all town code violation matters, officials said.
He will also assist with proceedings in Suffolk County Supreme Court, including those related to extreme risk protection orders, officials said.

Darrell brings more than 20 years of legal experience, including prior service as a Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney and as a partner at the East Hampton-based law firm Fleming & Darrell PLLC, officials said. His experience spans criminal defense, real estate, land use, and municipal board representation. A lifelong East Hampton resident, he has held leadership roles in local civic organizations such as Project MOST, the Bonac Booster Club, and the East Hampton Village Preservation Society.
"With his background as a county prosecutor and his deep understanding of our local laws and community, Trevor brings a unique combination of legal skill and local insight to the role," said Town Attorney Jacob Turner. "I’m confident he will represent the town with professionalism, fairness, and a strong sense of justice."

Town Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzalez added: "Trevor’s deep roots in the East Hampton community and his broad legal experience make him a valuable addition to our legal team. We’re fortunate to welcome someone who not only understands municipal law but has spent years serving this community in both professional and volunteer roles."
Darrell will serve a 10-hour-per-week schedule at an annual salary of $32,500, prorated to the date of hire.
"I’m honored to take on this role and look forward to serving the Town of East Hampton," said Darrell. "As someone who grew up here, raised my family here, and built my career here, it’s a privilege to support the town’s work and contribute to the place I’ve always called home."
Also beginning on May 19, Toledano assumes the role of deputy town attorney. Toledano previously served as principal assistant county attorney in the Suffolk County Attorney’s Office, where she advised senior county officials on land use, SEQRA compliance, and environmental law, officials said. Her background also includes legislative drafting, labor investigations, and litigation support on significant public health matters, town officials added.
