Easter Bunny Helps Raise Autism Awareness

Just in time for Autism Awarenss Day — today, Tuesday — an Easter Bunny helped raise money for a local autism advocacy group.

On Sunday, Sag Harbor-based chef George Hirsch won the three-foot hollow chocolate Easter Bunny at the 1770 House.  

Hirsch, a television host, chef, producter, and a cookbook author, was among the diners at the East Hampton Village restaurant, which was holding a raffle to benefit The Flying Point Foundation for Autism, a non-profit organization based in Water Mill. We hear Hirsch bought an armful. 

Carol Covell, the vice president of the foundation (which was started by her sister Kim Covell) and the general manager of the 1770 House.
