It's almost a rite of passage: Strolling down Main Street in hamlets and towns, sampling a new flavor and indulging in a summertime tradition as old as time.

In Bridgehampton the Candy Kitchen is an old-school luncheonette/soda fountain shop that has been making its own ice cream for over 91 years. The shop has been renovated since it first opened in 1925, but they kept the look βand the homemade ice cream β the same. Lots of famous faces stop in here, but most people donβt even notice them because everyone is too busy savoring their ice cream.
Also in Bridgehampton thereβs a free-standing Carvel across from Bridgehampton Commons. Itβs a drive-by pit stop for soft serve. This classic standby also still sells ice cream cakes that turn every day into a party β and Justin Bieber and Brooke Shields have both been spotted here.

Sip βn Soda in Southampton is a legendary ice cream parlor, serving ice cream at this same location since 1958. The classic recipes have been passed down through family members, but has never been written down.
If you want your sweet treat with a big scoop of class, Southamptonβs Sant Ambroeus is the place for you. Serving classic Italian gelati in a wide variety of flavors itβs a hot spot to indulge your sweet tooth. Kourtney Kardashian popped in when she was in town filming Kourtney & Khloe Take The Hamptons and running her Dash Pop Up.
Scoop Du Jour on Newtown Lane in East Hampton has homemade ice cream and frozen yogurt along with soft serve. Occupying the spot that was once Dreesenβs, a market famous for their homemade doughnuts, the Scoop keeps the tradition alive by selling the same doughnuts.
A much welcome newbie in the Hamptons ice cream scene is Dylanβs Candy Bar which just began serving ice cream in their candy shop.
At the center of Montauk town is Johnβs Drive-In. Itβs pure vintage with soft serve and homemade ice cream β and is a great spot for satisfying late-night cravings.
