Leaf Blower Ban: A Movement Emerges
A public nuisance or a part of life? You tell us.

In East Hampton, there is a campaign underway to ban leaf blowers due to their noise level and alleged health hazards.Â
Ban the Blowers, a group with a website and brochures, was founded by Bob Casper, Dr. James Matthews, both of whom live in Northwest Woods, and Bill Henderson, a Springs resident, according to The East Hampton Star.Â
In one of its literature, the organization said: “Our citizens are unwillingly exposed to hazardous carcinogens like hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides, whipped up in hurricane-force windstorms of pesticides, fertilizers, mold, lead, arsenic, mercury, fecal matter, and more, that once airborne can remain for hours and even days."
What do you think? Do you want to see leaf blowers banned in the Town of East Hampton? Tell us in the comments below.
