Man Charged With Felony DWI In East Hampton: Police

EAST HAMPTON, NY — An East Hampton man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated early Saturday morning, police said.

According to East Hampton town police, Victor L. Nieves Saca, 32, was arrested at about 2:15 a.m. on Stephen Hands Path. He was driving a black 2018 Toyota north on Stephen Hands Path near Bull Path, and was seen failing to dim his lights for approaching traffic, police said.

A traffic stop was initiated and officers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Saca's breath; his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, police said. He performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests administered, police said.

Due to a prior DWI conviction within 10 years, Saca was arrested and charged with felony DWI, police said.
