Prior to joining East Hampton, Culloton served as a town investigator in the code enforcement department for the Town of Southampton, officials said. During his time in Southampton, he was responsible for investigating violations of town codes and ordinances, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with other departments to maintain community standards.
In East Hampton Town, the ordinance enforcement department works to preserve the health, safety, and overall quality of life of the town’s residents, officials said. The department’s responsibilities range from investigating illegal structures and zoning violations to addressing issues such as garbage accumulation, unregistered vehicles on private property, overgrown vegetation, excessive noise, substandard or unsafe buildings, and illegal signage. Officers also respond to complaints about parking on unimproved surfaces, illegal businesses, and land use violations.
