• Stony Brook Children's Hospital announces program to support student mental health across local school districts (sbstatesman.com) — Students in East Hampton and six other Suffolk districts now have faster access to mental health care through Stony Brook Children’s new CARE program, launched in September. East Hampton High School’s principal says the hybrid telehealth and in-person service has made getting psychiatric assessments, counseling, and support easier, regardless of insurance or language barriers, with plans to expand countywide.

• LIPA rethinks energy strategy amid uncertainty over renewables (newsday.com) — LIPA is reworking its long-term energy plan, delaying some offshore wind projects and keeping older fossil-fuel plants running longer while adding more battery storage, including units already operating in East Hampton and Montauk. State planners now foresee a mixed portfolio of gas, nuclear, waste-to-energy, and renewables, with debates continuing over how aggressively Long Island should pursue solar and green technology while keeping rates affordable.
