Police Logs: East Hampton Man Held on Hefty Bail After Assault Charge
Brian Castillo allegedly resisted arrest and damaged a police car.

The following information was supplied by the East Hampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.
• Brian E. Castillo, 33, of East Hampton, is being held on $70,000 cash or $140,000 bond at the Suffolk County jail in Riverside following his arrest on May 18.
At about 6:10 p.m., police were called to 351 Pantigo Rd. in East Hampton, where they said they found Castillo assaulting the victim, whom police did not identify. Police advised him to stop and that he was under arrest. Castillo "advanced towards Sgt. [Joseph] Kearney and swung at him with a closed fist," his arrest report said. The sergeant wrestled Castillo to the ground and two officers assisted in handcuffing him.
While en route to headquarters, Castillo reportedly continuously kicked the back passenger window of the police car, causing damage to the window and the door.
Once in custody, police discovered an order of protection in place since February, ordering Castillo to stay-away from the victim.
Castillo was charged with criminal contempt in the first degree and second-degree assault, both felonies, and resisting arrest and fourth-degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors.
Held overnight, Justice Lisa R. Rana arraigned him on May 19. He was turned over to the Suffolk County Sheriff's office. He is due back in East Hampton Town Justice Court on Thursday.
• Andre L. Chamblin, 32, of Manchester, NH, was driving without a license and under the influence, according to police. Chamblin was pulled over on Abraham's Path, near Three Mile Harbor Road, on Monday at about 1:20 a.m., after he failed to dim his high beams, they said.
Officers reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from his car, and he appeared to have bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech and a sluggish demeanor.
A check of his driving record revealed his license was suspended in April for failure to answer a summons in Manhattan and in October 2012 for failure to pay driver's responsibility assessment. Taken into custody, Chamblin reportedly agreed to a blood test, and his blood was drawn at about 3 a.m.
Chamblin was charged with felony driving while ability impaired by drugs or alcohol due to a prior conviction in Southampton Town Justice Court in 2008. He was also charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
His vehicle was also impounded under the Suffolk County Seizure Law. During a search, police found a clear bag containing a green leafy substance between the front seats, which later tested positive for marijuana.
• Charles P. Limonius, 55, of East Hampton, was arrested on a drunken driving charge on May 14. Police said they saw 2011 BMW speeding south on Route 114, near Deer Path, and pulled it over for the traffic infraction at about 9:30 p.m. Limonius was behind the wheel, and appeared intoxicated, they said. He was charged with misdemeanor DWI, and held overnight. Justice Rana released him on his own recognizance.
• Briana N. Santos, 25, of New York City, was arrested on a misdemeanor DWI charge in Montauk on May 17 after police pulled her over for driving without a working license plate lamp at about 1:15 a.m. She was stopped in a 2004 Jeep on Montauk Highway, near South Etna Avenue, and reportedly appeared drunk. Arraigned the next morning, Justice Rana released her on her own recognizance.
• Diana K. Gomez, 34, of East Hampton, parked her vehicle in the center lane on North Main Street, near the intersection of Miller Terrace, in East Hampton on May 19 at about 4:40 a.m., leading to her arrest, police said. Police asked her to move her vehicle, and she drove into a driveway at 159 North Main St. According to the report, she appeared intoxicated. She was charged with misdemeanor DWI. Justice Rana released her on $350 bail later that day.
• Christian G. Farez-Guazhambo, 25, of East Hampton, was driving drunk and without a license when he crashed his 2003 Chevrolet into a tree on May 19, police said. He told police he swerved to avoid a deer on Hands Creek Road, near Oak View Highway, at about 12:20 a.m. Police said he appeared intoxicated, and was taken into custody. They discovered his driving privileges were suspended twice in February 2012 for failure to answer a summons out of East Hampton Town Justice Court. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors. Justice Rana released him on $350 bail later that day.
