Stickers & Social Media Campaign: Kardashians Go Home
Kardashians demonstrate shameless self-promotion has its limits even in the Hamptons
East End residents have launched a social media campaign imploring the Kardashians to pack their bags and go home. Despite the public frenzy that accompanies every move the Kardashian sisters make while spending the summer at a rented house in North Sea, their presence has received the cold shoulder from the majority of those posting to Twitter and Instagram.
Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, who are the proprietors of Dash, a pop-up store, in Southampton, find themselves pilloried in a campaign TMZ reports is hashtagged #nodash. Stickers featuring the girls’ faces and the hashtag have been spotted at Atlantic Beach in Amagansett and various other locales in the vicinity.
Enthusiasm for the anti-Kardashian infestation of the Hamptons has drawn grudging approval from snarky online gossip sites that love to take swipes at anyone lucky enough to live anywhere on the East End. As Hollywood Gossip notes the campaign doesn’t have the momentum of “Occupy Wall Street,” but it’s enough to send a message that’s loud and clear that shameless self-promotion isn’t universally admired even in the Hamptons.
