Teacher Spotlight: East Hampton's 'Selfless And Steadfast' Mary Mott

Through East Hampton EMS.

What does this person teach?

All things EMS: EMT certification classes, CPR, first aid, on and on.

Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

Mary started an EMS club at our local high school this past year, and she has empowered almost 40 young adults to learn life-saving skills to help their community. East Hampton EMS is a hybrid organization (mostly volunteer, with two paid providers daily.) Mary has instilled community service into these students and some are looking into the medical field going forward while taking a lot of time out of their lives currently to help their community members .

Mary has been a volunteer advanced care provider for East Hampton for 38 years and lives what she teaches her students. Few teachers are as committed and accomplished. I am so grateful to have her as our chief; friend and teacher of all things EMS.

She is selfless and steadfast in helping others.
