NYS Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. and EH Town Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc, first and third from left, at the gateway to Montauk on Friday, Oct. 22, with John Keeshan, the Montauk resident who has long advocated for burying the lines, between them. Accompanying them are Dan Cahill, another Montauk resident, who raised private funds for the recent undergrounding of electric lines along Old Montauk Highway, and other officials.  The picture below has been altered to show what the area will look like once the overhead electrical lines are installed underground.                         Photo: Michael Heller
