Tumbleweed Tuesday Brings Bargain Sale, Town Board Meeting
Your guide to what's happening in the community.

Tumbleweed Tuesday has finally arrived. With many students not heading back to school until Monday, this week after Labor Day may not feel quite the same, but things should still be quiet around town this week. Just the way we like it, right?Â
— First, a look at the weather. Expect showers early then scattered thunderstorms later in the day. High 78F. Chance of rain is 60 percent, so make plans indoors.Â
— If you're in the mood to shop, the Ladies Village Improvement Society's Bargain Box is holding a 50 percent off sale through Thursday. Don't miss this deal. Plus, the money raised goes toward preserving tress, greens, and historic landmarks around East Hampton, as well as scholarships for East Hampton High School students.
— The East Hampton Town Board will meet today at Town Hall at 10 a.m.
— Did you know that there are just nine weeks until Election Day? Believe it! We'll be ramping up our election coverage. Have some requests of what you want to see? Let us know.
— The High Holy Days are upon us. Rosh Hashanah starts on Wednesday evening, and Yom Kippur starts Sept. 13. Check back later today for a list of High Holy Day services scheduled around town.Â
