Where The Stars Pop In For Pizza in the Hamptons

EAST HAMPTON, NY — Here’s some of the local places stars go for a casual bite to eat.

Fierro’s Pizza in East Hampton is a family-owned and -run casual pizzeria across from the Stop and Shop. May seem like an unlikely stop for star-gazing, but not only has Gwyneth Paltrow been spotted here reuniting with ex Chris Martin over a pizza after they famously uncoupled, on the site’s Instagram page #fierrospizza a photo of her is posted along with the caption: “Even Gwyneth Paltrow loves my families’ pizzaria :).

Within steps of Fierro’s, there’s Sam’s Bar and Restaurant in East Hampton. This old-school Italian spot has been in town over 50 years and among the famous faces frequenting this local fave is Andy Cohen. He's told Vanity Fair one of his fave local Hampton restaurants is "Sam’s Bar and Restaurant in East Hampton, which has my favorite pizza. The vibe is really mellow and homey. The pizza is thin, and the sauce is a little sweet. I like to sit at the bar, drink some red wine, eat my pizza, and talk to the owner, Graham."

Then there is Serafina in East Hampton, a trendy hot spot that’s packed with diners for lunch and dinner all summer long. Katie Holmes, along with her daughter, Suri Cruise, has been here a few times, recently dining on the outdoor patio. While according to guestofaguest.com Jerry Seinfeld and Billy Baldwin have been spotted waiting at the bar when they've come in to pick up their take-out pizza orders.

Over in Amagansett Astro Pizza (adjoining Felice's their full-scale Italian restaurant) has been one of Paul McCartney’s go-to stops for a slice for over fifteen years. He’s been spotted here since Astro was at its first location in town a few doors away as has Alec Baldwin.

Even Kim Kardashian and sister Khloe Kardashian, along with Scott Disick, and Kim’s BBF Jonathan Cheban popped in for pizza at Pellegrino’s Pizza Bar and Restaurant on Noyack Road in Southampton, which is slightly off the beaten trendy track they usually travel on. But it is famous for its wood-fire pizzas.

While not every Hampton notable goes out for pizza, the de rigueur item for celeb chefs with Hamptons country houses is an outdoor pizza oven. At Bobby Flay’s his outdoor kitchen comes fully equipped with a grill (natch!) and a wood-burinng brick fireplace oven where he cooks pizzas and chicken, according to mydomaine.com.

And in Katie Lee’s former Watermill manse her al fresco kitchen had a restaurant-quality pizza oven, reports In Style.

So while you never know where you’ll see a star this summer—the one thing that is for certain is that somewhere in the Hamptons a celeb will be hanging back and savoring a slice.
