2 Men Accused Of Trying To Bomb Nassau Government Building: Police
One of the men placed propane tanks near the Nassau County Department of Social Services and threw lit flares toward the tanks, police say.

UNIONDALE, NY — Two North Merrick men were charged with attempted arson after one of the men hurled lit flares at propane tanks stationed near a Nassau County building in Uniondale in September, Nassau police said.
A man went to the Nassau County Department of Social Services building, at 60 Charles Lindbergh Blvd., and placed propane tanks near it around 2 a.m. Sept. 17, police said. He then threw lit flares toward the tanks and left, police said.
James Luca, 46, and Jayson Anthony Reyes, 25, were arrested on Thursday after an investigation, police said.

Both men were charged with first-degree attempted arson, obstruction of governmental duties by means of a bomb, first-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and fourth-degree conspiracy.
They are set to be arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
