Do You Want the Islanders to Return to Long Island? [POLL]

With the team's time at Barclays reportedly coming to a close, should the Islanders return to the Nassau Coliseum? Take our poll!

News broke Monday that the Islanders were going to be leaving the Barclays Center in Brooklyn after only a few years of playing there. Now, it seems there's a chance for the team to return to its home at the Nassau Coliseum.

The Islanders are still looking for a new home, but now Long Islanders are working to get them to come back here. The Islanders left after the 2015 season, when their contract at Nassau Coliseum expired.

"I have met with both Barclays and the Islanders and strongly believe there is a path for the Islanders to return to the New Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum where the best sight lines in NHL remain, improved attractive facilities for fans and athletes and room to add seats to accommodate the Islanders," Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano said. "While the decision remains with the Islanders we believe Long Island fans will make the Islanders successful in the New Coliseum."

According to Mangano, the renovated Nassau Coliseum will be able to accommodate a crowd nearly the same size as the old building for hockey purposes. The old coliseum had approximately 16,000 seats for hockey.

What do you think? Should the Islanders return to Long Island and play in the new coliseum?
