Driver Shoots Toward Another Vehicle In Nassau: Police

EAST MEADOW, NY — Two people were arrested over the weekend for firing shots into another vehicle in East Meadow, police said.

The male driver of a red Cadillac was aggressively changing lanes on Sunday night in front of a female driver on Prospect Avenue, police said.

The driver of the Cadillac fired two rounds with a handgun, before fleeing, police said.

An investigation led officers to the 7-Eleven on Newbridge Road in East Meadow, where the vehicle was located, authorities said.

Anthony Beltran, 33, of Bethpage; and John Messina, 45, of North Bellmore, were arrested without incident, police said. No injuries were reported.

Officers recovered a loaded .25 caliber handgun, a switchblade and a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, police said.

They were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree menacing, multiple counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, police said.

Beltran and Messina were expected to be arraigned on Monday.
