East Meadow Passes Budget, Votes for Full-Day Kindergarten
Voters have decided on the proposed 2015-16 budget.

East Meadow residents approved the school district’s $192.85 million proposed 2015-16 budget Tuesday 4,620-1,350. The budget passed in a landslide with 77.93 percent of the vote.
The budget includes a .90 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 2.13 percent tax levy increase.
Incumbent Brian O’Flaherty kept his seat on the Board of Education, garnering 2,752 votes against Adam Sackowitz’s 2,470. Melissa Tell unseated incumbent Walter Skinner, earning 2,608 votes against Skinner’s 2,576.

Proposition No. 2 to add full-day kindergarten also passed 4,019-2048 votes.
