Hicks Nursery Hosting Vaccination Clinic Next Week

Anyone will be able to come to the nursery to get a shot of the coronavirus vaccine.

WESTBURY, NY — Next week, Nassau County will be holding a vaccine clinic at Hicks Nursery in Westbury, giving free shots of the coronavirus vaccine to all who want it.

Workers from the county Department of Health will be at the nursery, located at 100 Jericho Turnpike, from 2 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 27 to give shots of the Moderna vaccine. Shots are available to anyone 18 and older. No questions will be asked about insurance or immigration status, and Spanish-speaking staff will be on hand. Appointments are not necessary. And anyone who gets a shot at the event will get a $25 gift card to Hicks Nursery.

“Nassau County continues to lead the way in vaccinations in New York State and the nation and we are committed to keep up the pace," said County Executive Laura Curran. "I am proud of how successful our new onsite business vaccination program has become — another tool to further increase our vaccination rates and protect our residents and the progress we have made. Big shout out to Hicks Nurseries for signing on to get their staff vaccinated as well as opening the event to the public so we can get as many shots in arms as possible.”

The county's onsite program allows businesses to request the county come to offer vaccinations to its employees. Businesses owners can call 516-227-9570 to schedule an appointment.
