LI Marathon Discounts End By May 5; Runners Various Weekend Options

EAST MEADOW, NY — The Long Island Marathon is just days away. The 26.2-mile race starts and ends at Eisenhower Park on May 7.

Those seeking extra activity can sign up for the 35.5-mile challenge, which comprises of a Friday night 5k, a Saturday 10k run and the Sunday marathon.

Fees increase for all events after May 4.

The county says more than 9,000 people are expected to take part and watch the various runners.

A portion of the proceeds will go toward the Friends of Karen Foundation, supporting critically ill children and their families.
