Nassau Man Arrested After Gunshots At Eisenhower Park: Cops

A Rockville Centre man has been arrested and faces weapons charges after police said he fired off gunshots at Eisenhower Park on Sunday.

Lamichael Taylor, 34, of Rockville Centre, faces charges of second- and third-degree degree criminal weapon possession, as well as first-degree reckless endangerment.

EAST MEADOW, NY — A Rockville Centre man has been arrested and faces weapons charges after police said he fired off gunshots at Eisenhower Park on Sunday night, then tried to run away.

Police were called to the park in East Meadow around 8:40 p.m. Sunday, and were told someone was running through the park toward Merrick Avenue.

Police said they saw Lamichael Taylor, 34, running and hopping a fence. He then continued south on Merrick Avenue towards Hempstead Turnpike, police said.

Taylor was taken into custody without further incident.

Investigators recovered a semiautomatic .40 caliber Smith and Wesson M&P shield.

Taylor faces charges of second- and third-degree degree criminal weapon possession, as well as first-degree reckless endangerment.

He was expected to appear in Hempstead district court Monday.
