Third Nassau Bank Robbed This Week

The robber used a similar method as the other two robberies, but no money was stolen this time, police said.

WESTBURY, NY — A man tried to rob a bank in Westbury on Wednesday using the same method employed in two other bank robberies that happened in Nassau County this week.

According to police, the man entered the Bank of America, located at 248 Post Ave. in Westbury, at 2:29 p.m. He approached the teller and and passed her a note demanding money, while threatening to pull out a weapon.

The teller walked away from her station, and the man then fled the bank through a back door without any money.

There were four employees and several customers in the bank at the time of the robbery, police said.

This is the third bank robbery this week with a similar method. There were similar robberies made in Rockville Centre and Garden City on Tuesday.

Police ask anyone with information about these robberies to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
