FARMINGDALE, NY — The American Airpower Museum of Farmingdale is set to host its first ever Flight Line Flea Market, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 21. The military aviation museum, at Republic Airport, Hangar 3, 1230 New Highway, plans to make the event annual.

"Join us on the 21st as we transform our flight line into a unique flea market experience," a spokesman for the museum wrote in a news release. "We will be hosting a host of vendors from near and far as they offer their wares of vintage antiques, books, collectables, clothing, toys, and more! There’s no telling what types of treasures you may find at the AAM Flea Market! Enjoy your shopping experience with our historic hangar and aircraft backdrop, period music classics throughout our hangar, food and drink for purchase including delicious hot dogs, potato knishes and soda, served hot from one of our favorite local food trucks parked outside Hangar 3."

Admission to the flea market counts as the museum's daily admission, which includes entrance to the museum, where people can see its squadron of legendary aircraft — both operational and static — on display, including the North American B-25 Mitchell Bomber, Douglas C-47 Skytrain, Grumman TBM-3E Avenger, Republic F-105D Thunderchief, Fairchild/Republic A-10A "Warthog," and many more.

"Your attendance will support local vendors and help our unique aviation museum continue its mission to preserve and teach future generations about Long Island’s significant role in our nation’s aviation history, plus honoring the men and women past and present, who have defended freedom around the world. Our motto of 'Keep ‘Em Flying!' is all about keeping our special collection airworthy and on display to the public!"
