2 Sisters Open Studio Sol In Farmingdale, 'A Very Welcoming Community'

FARMINGDALE, NY — Sisters Gianna and Alaina Margarita realized a dream together when they opened Studio Sol in Farmingdale.

The shop is open and taking reservations now, though a grand opening is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Studio Sol is at 459 Main Street. People may contact the business at studiosoltans@gmail.com.

Studio Sol offers spray tans, waxing, facials, makeup and body treatments. Gianna handles the spray tans and social media, while Alaina is the shop's esthetician.

Gianna said Farmingdale has been "really welcoming" so far.

"It’s a really great community and a very welcoming community," she told Patch. "Everyone’s super sweet."

Studio Sol offers services to both men and women, with Brazilian waxings the only service for women only.

"Come to Studio Sol so that you may feel confident in your already gorgeous, beautiful skin in a judgement-free zone," Alaina said.

Gianna added, "Enhance your natural beauty."

The shop has not only allowed the Margarita sisters to work together, but has given them creative freedom, Gianna said.

"Having a place where we can share our passion with everybody is really great," she said.

Gianna, an artist and art teacher, refers to herself as a spray tan artist rather than technician because of the customization options behind spray tanning.

"A lot of people don’t really understand how far [spray tans] have come," she said. "You won’t be orange. It’s customized to you. We’ll work with whatever you want. It could be very natural and light, or it can be the darkest you want it."

Gianna said she feels she has been able to showcase her artistic abilities with painting and decorating the shop, as well.
