Members of the Welfare Committee, chaired by Rosemary Emigholz, met recently with staff from The Fellowship Café at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Farmingdale and presented them with a $50 donation. The Fellowship Café is in its 13th year. They serve a hot meal the last Saturday of every month, which is open to anyone who needs a meal or is looking for companionship for a few hours. The Café was started by Janice Anderson and Kelly Meyer. They have very dedicated volunteers, parishioners and the Handicapped Encounter Christ group. They strive to offer a friendly ad safe environment for guests by having meetings with guests about rules that they decide on. Their amazing journey consists of helping people from all walks of life and meeting new people while doing God’s work.

The WCF July Book Club met on 7/11/25 at Rosemarie’s Restaurant to discuss their latest book “Don’t Forget to Write” by Sara Goodman Confino. This book was well received with an average rating of 4 out of 5. A quick synopsis outlines a young Jewish woman who is sent to live with her great-aunt, a match-maker, after she causes a scandal. The book explores romance, a desire for independence, and the life paths open to women in 1960.
The Women’s Club of Farmingdale, a local 501-C-3 non-profit organization, is always interested in welcoming new members. For more information, please email: lyndaleone@gmail.com or jude523@aol.com. #IAMGFWC
