Fair Harbor Fire Department Auctions Off Truck To Public
Anyone can bid on the working fire truck, and proceeds will be used to purchase new equipment for the department.
FAIR HARBOR, NY—In the market for an unusual vehicle? A public auction for a used fire truck is happening in Fair Harbor on Fire Island. The Fair Harbor Fire District is auctioning off a 2001 International Saulsbury 4x4 hose wagon.
The drafting truck with hydraulics has only 5,736 miles. The proceeds from the online auction, which runs until August 1, will benefit the Fair Harbor Fire District. The proceeds will buy new fire suits, hoses and equipment.
The truck is operational and was replaced by a newer vehicle.
