$70,000 Fraudulent Check Deposited At Nassau Bank: Police

Dwayne Campbell faces a count of grand larceny and criminal possession of a forged instrument, police said.

VALLEY STREAM, NY — A Queens man has been arrested for depositing a fraudulent check at Capital One Bank in Valley Stream, police said.

Dwayne Campbell, 40, is accused of depositing a US Treasury check on Monday morning, which caused the bank on West Sunrise Highway to lose in excess of $74,000, police said.

Campbell, who surrendered to police, is charged with second-degree grand larceny and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, police said.

He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead.
