Argument At Nassau Shopping Center Turns Physical: Police

Ronald Bellamy is accused of hitting the female victim, and stealing her pocketbook and iPhone, police said.

NORTH LAWRENCE, NY — A dispute at the Five Towns Shopping Center on Tuesday afternoon led to a physical altercation, police said.

Ronald Bellamy, 25, of Far Rockaway, ultimately struck the 24-year-old female victim in the face. He grabbed her iPhone and pocketbook before taking off, authorities said.

After a brief police pursuit on foot, Bellamy was located and placed into custody. An investigation revealed that he violated two active orders of protection, police said.

Bellamy was arrested and charged with third-degree robbery, second-degree harassment, fourth-degree grand larceny and two counts of first-degree criminal contempt. He was expected to be arraigned on Wednesday.
