Fatal Overdose Of Nassau Resident Leads To Arrest: Police

A man was found with drugs believed to be oxycodone and cocaine, as well as a loaded 0.45 handgun and ammunition, police say.

ELMONT, NY — A man was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into the fatal overdose of a Nassau County resident, Nassau police said.

Keith Turner, 59, of Queens, was arrested without incident at 3:20 p.m. in Elmont, police said.

Detectives recovered pills believed to be oxycodone and a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, police said. A loaded 0.45 handgun and additional ammunition were also recovered, police said.

Turner was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance; and one count of criminal possession of a firearm, police said.

He is set to be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
