  1. An 11-year-old boy was approached by a man in a light-colored SUV on Wednesday afternoon in Oceanside. The boy was walking home from school near Arrow Street in Oceanside and the man said the boy's mother sent him to pick him up. The boy did not get into the vehicle and police are looking for any tips. (Patch)
  2. Patch explains that one of three new Amazon Fresh supermarkets planned for LI will be in Oceanside. The store, at a former Waldbaum's, is waiting for a retail liquor license. (Patch)
  3. Dr. Aaron Glatt, chair of the department of medicine at Mount Sinai South Nassau in Oceanside and an associate rabbi at Young Israel of Woodmere, helped light the menorah at the White House on Wednesday. (Subscription: Newsday)
