Lawrence High School Speech & Debate Team Shines at 8th Annual Long Island Mentor Moot Court Tournament

The Lawrence High School Speech and Debate Team proudly represented the district at the 8th Annual Long Island Mentor Moot Court Tournament, held on December 2nd at the Islip Federal Courthouse. The event brought together more than 20 Nassau County schools, offering students the opportunity to argue a hypothetical appellate case using real judicial precedents in an authentic courtroom setting.

Lawrence’s Petitioners, Dolores Tobar and Lucas Martinez, along with Respondent Wynter-Mari Content and co-counsel Ja'Nay Daily, delivered outstanding performances, demonstrating exceptional legal reasoning, confidence, and professionalism before panels of practicing attorneys.
“We are incredibly proud of our students,” said Dr. Jennifer Lagnado-Papp, Lawrence High School Principal. “Their dedication, confidence, and professionalism in such a prestigious courtroom environment reflect their hard work and the strength of our program.”

The Lawrence High School community congratulates all participating students for their exceptional performance and extends appreciation to the Long Island Mentor Moot Court Program for providing this valuable experiential learning opportunity.
