An armed home invasion in Garden City Park is being investigated by police. A Hewlett teen has become president of a junior firefighter's association. A proposed Nassau County law will allow police officers to sue protesters. And a Nassau County diver looks for a second Olympic medal in Tokyo.

Here are the top stories in Five Towns today:
- Alex Costello reports that a Garden City man was tied up and robbed in a home invasion over the weekend. Four men with handguns forced their way into his home on Churchill Drive. He was taken to the bathroom, hit in the head with a pistol and put in the bath tub before the men stole cash and other items and then fled. Police are still investigating. (Patch)
- News 12 Long Island looks at a proposed law in Nassau County that would allow police officers to sue protestors who harass or injure them. Civil rights activists say it would set a dangerous precedent while sponsoring legislator Josh Lafazan says the bill would help protect officers. (News 12)
- Jerry Barmash continues to cover Wantagh diver Andrew Capobianco's Olympic games. He's qualified for the semifinals in the 3-meter springboard event after winning silver in last week's 3-meter synchronized competition. (Patch)
- Daniel Robertson profiles a young Hewlett resident from the Hewlett Junior Fire Department who was elected president of the Nassau County Junior Firefighters Association. Jared Glassman, 16, is a senior at Hewlett High School and a captain with the junior fire department. (LI Herald)
