Nassau County has launched its new traveling vaccination that will come to local businesses. Cedarhurst Village residents spoke out against a proposed residential development. A Valley Stream MS-13 gang member was sentenced for two murders. This Sunday will be Inwood Day at the Five Towns Community Center.

- Andrew Garcia looks at the appointment of Merrick Superintendent Dr. Dominick Palma as the president-elect of the Nassau County Council of School Superintendents for the 2021-22 school year. (LI Herald)
- Daniel Robertson recaps last week's Cedarhurst village board meeting where residents expressed concern about a proposed development at Rockaway Turnpike and Pearsall Avenue. The current site has vacant lots and an abandoned warehouse. A proposed project would construct three buildings with 112 residential co-op and rental units. (LI Herald)
- John Asbury reports that a Valley Stream MS-13 gang member was sentenced for murders in Lawrence, Far Rockaway. Elmer Gutierrez, 21, pleaded guilty to the killings of Harold Sermeno in Far Rockaway and Ian Cruz in Lawrence. The Nassau County District Attorney recommended 35 years to life in prison. - Jeff Bessen previews this Sunday's Inwood Day at Five Towns Community Center. The afternoon of family fun will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and include arts and crafts, games, food, music and prize raffles. Soccer games are on tap at the Sadie E. Scott Recreation Field outside the community center, 3-on-3 basketball in the gym, pool and Ping-Pong in the game room and Zumba dancing outside. For kids, an obstacle course, a bouncy attraction and a DJ are scheduled. Backpacks and school supplies will be distributed at the event, which will honor the late Pete Sobol. (LI Herald)

- Nassau County Police Officer Matthew Perlungher was laid to rest on Wednesday. He passed away from a 9/11 related illness and was posthumously promoted Officer Perlungher to Detective First Grade for his sacrifice and dedication over his 24 years of service to the department. (Facebook)
