Islanders Offer Mentorship Session For Underprivileged Students
During the Dec. 6 program, students will learn how to grow as a player and a person.

ELMONT, NY — Aspiring hockey players can learn from the Islanders in a mentorship session at UBS Arena.
The 43 Oak Foundation is running the program in conjunction with the arena and the Islanders.
The session is scheduled for Dec. 6 at 4 p.m., prior to the Isles facing off with the St. Louis Blues.

The foundation is a non-profit organization serving disadvantaged youth throughout the region from ages 13-22.
During the session, students will meet with corporate volunteers and members of the Islanders will share experiences as student athletes. They will learn how to improve leadership skills and build their network.

As part of the mentoring, students will get transportation, equipment and ice time.
Following the session, the young athletes will get to watch the Islanders matchup.
