Islanders Postpone Next Game Due To COVID-19

ELMONT, NY — The New York Islanders announced that their Wednesday night game at UBS Arena against the Red Wings has been postponed due to COVID-19 related issues.

No make-up game has been released.

Several players went into the league's COVID-19 protocols this week, including Brock Nelson.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, head coach Barry Trotz said his job is to keep the players focused.

"The only thing we can control is our attitude and our work ethic," Trotz said. "Other than that, it's going to be what it is."

The Isles have a home game scheduled on Thursday night against the Buffalo Sabres. A matchup in Buffalo on Dec. 27 was postponed as part of a league-wide postponement.
