Man Charged In Larceny Spree At Nassau Strip Mall During Summer: PD

LAWRENCE, NY — A Queens man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with a larceny spree that took place this summer at stores in Lawrence, police said.

On Tuesday afternoon, William Foster, 44, entered the Marshalls at 345 Rockaway Turnpike and passed all points of purchase with store merchandise, police said. Foster exited and fled without paying, police said.

A short time later, officers located Foster and placed him under arrest, police said.

He was found to have a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, police said.

During the investigation, detectives discovered that Foster was responsible for four other larcenies at the strip mall, including, police said:

  • July 20 – Marshalls
  • August 4 – DSW
  • August 16 – Marshalls
  • August 24 - Burlington

Additionally, it was revealed that when Foster was approached by a Burlington employee on Aug. 24, he displayed a handgun, police said.

Foster was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree grand larceny, three counts of petty larceny and violating the county's Mask Transparency Act, police said.

There was also an open bench warrant for Foster in Nassau County, police said.

He was due to be arraigned on Thursday.
