Loaded Gun Found During Nassau Traffic Stop: Police

INWOOD, NY — A man was found with a loaded weapon during a traffic stop in Inwood, police said.

Raymond Colon, 29, of Brooklyn, was traveling northbound on Doughty Boulevard just after 9:30 p.m. on Monday when he failed to signal for turning onto Bayview Avenue, police said.

During the traffic stop, a loaded black 9mm semi-automatic handgun was recovered from the 2006 Infiniti, authorities said.

Colon was also in possession of a clear, unlabeled bottle with six alprazolam pills and four oxycodone pills, police said.

He was placed under without incident. Colon is charged with several counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Colon was scheduled to be arraigned to be arraigned on Tuesday.
