With Omicron Spreading, NHL Postpones All Games Through Weekend

The next game for the Islanders is scheduled for Monday in Buffalo.

ELMONT, NY — The NHL is taking a proactive measure to take the lead in the fight against the omicron variant.

With the schedule already empty on Wednesday due to COVID-19 related postponements, the league is taking this time to extend the holiday break and keep everyone safe.

Under the revised schedule, all teams will be off Dec. 22, 23, 24 and 25. There will also be no traveling during that time.
