Road Renamed At UBS Arena For Islanders
NY Islanders Way is a celebration of 50 years for the NHL franchise.

ELMONT, NY — The New York Islanders now have a road named for them.
In marking the 50th anniversary of the four-time Stanley Cup franchise, the Town of Hempstead was renamed Red Road, adjacent to UBS Arena, NY Islanders Way.
The road is located alongside the silver and diamond parking lots.

Town of Hempstead Don Clavin was among the dignitaries on hand for the Thursday unveiling.
While the team joined the NHL in 1972, after decades at the Nassau Coliseum, they briefly left the township for Brooklyn.
