- Jerry Barmash reports that a school bus in Inwood crashed into a building starting a fire at Burnside Avenue and Hoover Street. Details are still emerging. (Patch)
- The Herald explains that the Downtown Island Park Revitalization Project across from the library in Island Park has begun. The flooding in the area has been an issue for years. The project will cost $1.3 million. (LI Herald)
- Patch alerts residents that road work on Hempstead Turnpike has begun that will last three weeks. Construction is expected to close one lane in either direction from the Cross Island Parkway to Munson Avenue. (Patch)
- A local Five Towns group that opposed the building of a health care facility at the former Number Six School in Woodmere years ago wants to monitor development in the area. The Community Coalition of the Five Towns wants to educate Five Towns residents about proposed projects. (LI Herald)
