Hello, people of Five Towns! It's me again, your host of the Five Towns Daily.

The Tokyo Olympics are underway: see what local connections the Games has. The Islanders have a schedule for their brand new arena. Sharks are being spotted more frequently this summer, including off Jones Beach. And police really don't want partiers descending on Long Beach's boardwalk and will be there with penalties.

  1. Jerry Barmash shares the Islanders' schedule at their brand new arena. The first game at the UBS Arena at Belmont Park will be on November 20 against the Calgary Flames. (Patch)
  2. Check out this home for sale in Hewlett Harbor. 55 Thixton Drive is listed at $5.9 million. The waterfront home has nine bedrooms and 12,000 square feet. (Bloomberg)
  3. News 12 tells us that police are still warning against illegal Long Beach boardwalk parties. Anyone who attended the Saturday night gathering was at risk of tickets and their car being towed. (News 12 Long Island)
  4. News 12 also talks to beachgoers in Nassau County about the increase in shark sightings. Two sharks were spotted off Jones Beach on Thursday. Nassau is adding patrols. (News 12 Long Island)
  5. A man from Valley Stream has been charged with murder in the shooting of a Newark woman. Wesley Jean-Marie, 32, also faces weapons charges along with the murder of Leeana Cottle. (NJ.com)
