- The LI Herald checks out the race for the Town of Hempstead's 4th Council District. Incumbent Republican Anthony D’Esposito is being challenged by Democrat Aaron Meyer. (LI Herald)
- A husband and wife in Woodsburgh produced a new documentary series that will have a premiere on Sunday at the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan. Nan and Harold Klein, 65 and 66, created “Trauma to Triumph — The Rise of the Entrepreneur” which will air on PBS’s World channel and is about overcoming difficulties as entrepreneurs. (LI Herald)
- A Baldwin shooting on Monday afternoon is being investigated. It happened at Victoria Street and Stanton Avenue. (LI Herald)
- Valley Stream Central school district increased security again Tuesday after weekend threats. On Monday the district opened schools but under lockdown mode. (Subscription: Newsday)
- A Hempstead man pleaded guilty on Tuesday to murder for the 2017 attack with a hammer which left his mother, sister and a family friend dead, as well as another injured.
Bobby Vanderhall, 37, of Hempstead, will be sentenced om Dec. 17, and is expected to get 50 years to life in prison. (Patch)
