Weather Alert: Surf Advisory Issued for the Five Towns
Hurricane Leslie churns in the Atlantic, creating a high risk for a rip current along the south shore.

A high rip current risk is in effect until this evening for the Five Towns area, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The surf height is expected to be 4 to 6 feet.
The NWS said that the high risk of rip currents will likely continue throughout the upcoming weekend "as swells from Tropical Storm Leslie affect the coast."
