Cyclist Killed In Queens Hit-And-Run, Police Say
Police are searching for the driver of a tractor-trailer that slammed into a 21-year-old Flushing man and killed him.

FLUSHING, QUEENS -- New York City police are searching for the truck driver involved in a hit-and-run that killed a 23-year-old bicyclist in Queens.
Hugo Ramirez, of Flushing, was bicycling along 48th Street in Maspeth on Monday morning when a white Volvo tractor-trailer slammed into him in a right turn onto 53rd Avenue, police told Patch. The truck driver fled the scene, which was about a block away from an entrance ramp to the Long Island Expressway.
Officers responding to the 911 call at around 8 a.m. found Ramirez unconscious, sprawled on the street with severe head and body injuries, authorities said. He was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where he died.

Cops described the semi-truck involved in the hit-and-run as a white Volvo 18-wheeler carrying an empty flatbed trailer. The truck driver was last seen traveling eastbound along the Long Island Expressway, an NYPD spokesman said.
