F Train Service Resumes After Rider Fatally Struck in Manhattan (Updated)

The incident happened just before 10 a.m., police said. Delays impacted the A, C, E, F and G lines, according to the MTA.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — A person was fatally struck by an F Train in Manhattan on Tuesday morning, causing service changes and delays on five lines.

The incident happened shortly before 10 a.m. at the East Broadway F stop on the Lower East Side, police said.

Delays and service changes impacted the A, C, E, F and G lines, but normal service had resumed as of the early afternoon, according to the MTA.

The F Train was traveling on the northbound line when the victim, a 38-year-old man, was struck, according to police.

Police said the train's conductor did not see a person jump in front of the train. The train's breaks were applied, and the victim was found under the train's second car, according to the NYPD.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation, an NYPD spokesman said Tuesday.
