6 Years Later, Arrest Made in Brooklyn Man's Murder

WEST BABYLON, NY — A Manhattan man has been arrested and charged in the shooting death of a Brooklyn man in West Babylon, Long Island, in 2009.

Daniel Greenspan, 28, of East 20th Street, is charged with second degree murder in the death of 32-year-old Clinton Hill resident Michael E. Sinclair, police said. Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives arrested Greenspan near his home on Sunday morning.

Early on the morning of Jan. 31, 2009, police say First Precinct officers were called to Kellum Street in West Babylon after residents called 911 and reported hearing gunfire. When police arrived, they discovered Sinclair had been shot multiple times in the roadway in front of 110 Kellum Street.

Sinclair, who lived on Willoughby Avenue near Hall Street in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police have not released a possible motive for the shooting. Greenspan was held overnight at the Third Precinct pending arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.
