Auditions For The Brooklyn Nets Kids Dance Team Slated For August

Brooklyn's own NBA team is looking for a crew of tiny dancers.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — Your kid could become the newest member of the Brooklyn Nets.

The NBA team is looking for a new group of tiny dancers to join the Brooklyn Nets Kids cheerleading team and will hold an open audition the first weekend in August, the team announced.

The Brooklyn Nets staff are searching for children between the ages of six and 13 with at least two years of dance training to perform at Barclays Center home games and other media events, according to the audition notice.

They’ll work with choreographer and head coach Tanisha Scott, who has worked with JAY-Z, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, and Sean Paul, among others, organizers said.

The auditions are slated to begin at 10 a.m. on Aug. 5 at the LIU Brooklyn Paramount Theatre on Flatbush and DeKalb avenues.

Those looking to grab a spot on the team will have to show they can learn choreography and be available for weekend games and rehearsals once a week.

Candidates must come with a parent or legal guardian and wear dance attire and non-marking sneakers or dance shoes.
