'Berlyn' Restaurant Near BAM Will Close Saturday
The restaurant is located across the street from BAM and was a favorite among its patrons.

FORT GREENE — Brooklynites’ favorite spot for schnitzel near BAM will shutter its door on Saturday.
Berlyn, a German restaurant on Lafayette Avenue and Ashland Place, will close for good on June 17 after six years in business, the owners announced on the restaurant’s website.
“Berlyn will be serving its last Schnitzel Saturday,” the announcement said. “Hope that you've been left with as many fond memories as we have.”

#Sundays are for schnitzel(and apparently snow and ice storms too.) Eliminate one day off your weekly menu planning and leave the cooking to us tonight. One less meal to fret over and a few less dishes to wash? We're in. Berlyn's food, like its name, drew inspiration from both Berlin and Brooklyn, with dishes such as gluten-free spätzle, frikadellen (beef meatballs) served with kale pesto and humanely-sourced pork schnitzel.
The quirky eatery with a decor that featured cured meat throw pillows, antler chandeliers and gnomes, has been drawing customers from Brooklyn Academy of Music patrons since it first opened its doors in 2010.
